Aaron Foley, PhD

Research Scientist and Assistant Professor of Research with Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Kingsville

Aaron Foley is currently a postdoctoral research associate with the East Foundation and Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Presently, Aaron will determine how hunting influences deer demography and morphology by using unhunted deer populations as a baseline, and will be involved in documenting effects of environmental variation on deer populations, quantifying the expansion of nilgai antelope in South Texas, and providing educational experiences to university students via deer captures.

In 2011, Aaron graduated with a Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he quantified male mate-search strategies, predictability of antler characteristics, and factors influencing reproductive success in white-tailed deer. Subsequently, he worked with United States Geologically Society and the University of Montana to evaluate the role of supplemental feeding and harvest vulnerability on elk population dynamics.
